In a not so recent interview, Gong Hyo Jin was asked to pick who among the hottest korean leading men known as the Four New Kings, would she wish to be paired with in her future project. Our Queen of Romantic Comedies get to pick from these hotties:

image

1. LEE MIN HO

He rose to superstardom after he played Go Jun Pyo in Boys over flowers. He’s proven that he deserves to be one of the four new Hallyu (Korean Wave) Kings when he starred opposite Park Shin Hye in The Heirs. He was the lead in many hit kdramas in the past and has shown great chemistry with noona (older female) co-stars like Son Ye Jin in Personal Taste and Kim Hee Sun in Faith. It would be interesting to see Lee Min Ho get paired with Gongvely herself in a korean drama soon. But a sizzling hot lovestory in a movie with equally sexy scenes are a must-see if they ever get paired up in a project.

2. KIM SOO HYUN

The alien who stole the hearts of legions of females of all ages and all nationalities after portraying Do Min Joon in You Who came from the Stars with fellow Hallyu powerhouse, Jun Ji Hyun could certainly hold up his own in a romantic comedy if he get paired up with the Queen of Romantic Comedy, Gong Hyo Jin. He has proven he has great comedic timing in his roles in Stars and in his breakout role in Dream High.

3. LEE JONG SUK

I first took notice of Lee Jong Suk when the played the role of the man-child in love with Oska. Playing a gay character in the successful drama, Secret Garden was a hit or miss affair but he has proven that he has the versatility and the audacity to play complex characters. He was well loved as Go Nam Soon and has shown that he could shine alongside drama veteran Jang Nara in School 2013 but he cemented his reputation as a noona-killer when he played the role of Park Soo Ha opposite Lee Bo Young in I Hear Your Voice.

4. KIM WOO BIN

The guy who stood side by side with Lee Min Ho in The Heirs and Lee Jong Suk in School 2013 has gained equal popularity with his fellow cast members as he has shown that his performance could rival that of the lead actors.

In the said interview, Gong Hyo Jin picked Lee Min Ho to star with her playing both strong and tough characters.

But personally, I would love to see Lee Jong Suk and Gong Hyo Jin in a project because I think both of them are the kind of actors who are dedicated so much to their craft that they would be willing to sacrifice image if they were given compelling and challenging roles. I can also say that both have this uncanny ability of creating great chemistry with their co-stars.

In case the project is a romantic comedy, my bet would be Kim Soo Hyun because if he could go head-to-head with Jun Ji Hyun as he did in Stars, he could certainly do the same if he teamed up with Gong Hyo Jin. Nevertheless, I would definitely support our Hyo Jin if she get to work with these kings of Hallyu in the near future.

I first saw her in Lee Soo Young’s Dong Gu Ro Ni or Left Alone music video back in 2003 and I still remember thinking how ย simple she looked in comparison with all the other Korean actresses at that time. But I just felt like there is something about her that no matter how simple she is, you can still end up liking her. I cannot say that I personally know her but from what I know from her interviews and her choices in her projects, she seems like an actress who is very much grounded, highly intelligent, very introspective but at the same time very relatable. She’s fearless in her choices of projects and characters to portray. I love that she pick strong female characters and that most of them are strong willed and was never the damsel-in-distress kind.

She’s always in fashion that even if you force her to wear rags, she could probably still pull it off as if it was a designer piece. She is so very lively and fun to be around as per her co-stars which earned her the nickname Gongvely.

What I love most about her is the fact that she’s very honest. She is very vocal in terms of getting her beliefs across. She even wrote a book aptly titled Gong Chek or Gong Hyo Jin’s Notebook about her advocacy towards the environment. She is very open about her relationship in public and most of all, she doesn’t feel superficial because her charm is rooted on her belief in her self. She was able to overcome the stigma that she is never gonna be a beautiful face like most actresses her age ย but she is just so comfortable with her own skin that she doesn’t give a rat’s ass what other people think of her looks because she is confident that she can surely win them over with her wit and her charm. And I could say that the beauty may soon be washed away with age, but Gong Hyo Jin seems to be looking lovelier and lovelier as time goes by. Not because she has jumped in the plastic surgery bandwagon but the fact that her womanly charms seems to improve in time as well. She is currently starring in a fusion of romantic comedy and horror genre in the drama The Master’s Sun. The show has gained a huge following not only in Korea but also worldwide if you can follow the buzz in most online communities. The main reason for the shows success can be attributed to the sizzling on and off-screen chemistry of Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub.

And I think right now, the reason why Korea loved her so much is because she has proven her worth as an actress. It might be that your face will get you noticed as you start your career but it is the talent and your love for your craft which will determine how long you will survive in the industry.

Sports Chosun reported on the 11th that Gong Hyo-jin & Ryoo Seung-bum will wed on October 10.
Their agencies shot down the rumors.

She IS one of the fashion leaders with her slender body and eccentric sense of style… right?

Gong Hyo-jin and Ryoo Seung-beom couple are on their way to church, dressed like this! (eccentric neh?)

I like her and I’ve come to accept her sense of style but this isn’t the look to have when you’re going to church. ๐Ÿ™‚

Through his minihomepage (Daum) Ryoo Seung-beom showed his affections for his girlfriend and his open relationship with… Gong Hyo-jin.

In his mini-homepage with the title “Can’t see the eyes” of a magazine photoshoot with Bae Doona, Park Hae-il, Kang Hye-jeong, and Song Kang-ho he wrote a comment, ” I saw that beautiful lady on the bottom left before~~~~? “.

Here’s the said magazine picture.
